Explore the most Beautiful places in Ayia Napa - Cape Greco

Launching a series of articles that will introduce the most beautiful places in the Famagusta Region and Ayia Napa, we present you the sole National forest of Cyprus and probably its most valued natural treasure, the Cape Greco!

The Sea Caves

Being far the most popular sites of all nature lovers, adventurous families and romantic couples visiting in the area, the sea cavesof the along the rocky shoreline running from Agia Napa to Cape Greco are truly magnificent specimens of what marvels can be produced from nature’s forces and time.

Snorkeling, spear gunning and other types of fishing are the most common activities in the area beside swimming and diving from the cliffs overlooking the serene emerald waters below. Some of the most famed caves of the coastline are the so-called Palace and Smugglers caves, featuring passages taking swimmers deep in the rock formations – some stretching as long as 80 meters! - offering sights and views accessible only by sea.

The Konnos Beach

Just four kilometres east of Agia Napa, on the route linking Cape Greco and the summer resort of Protaras, Konnos form a natural boundary between Agia Napa and Paralimni.

Ranking among the most impressive shores on the islandKonnos is a relatively small stripe of golden sand – just 35 X 200 metres – that is well protected from the strong summer breezes that are typical in the area by natural rock formations, which make the site even more picturesque and serene, as well as ideal for small children and elderlies who wish to avoid large waves crashing on shore.

The Love Bridge

The bridge of Love is a 100% natural wonder, a rocky arch forming the end of cliff elevation towering above the azure waters of Cape Greco.

Local legends have it that couples kissing while standing on this marvel of nature have their wishes coming true. Regardless of any dreams, you may have, the place is not one you want to miss - exceptional views, mesmerising sunsets and a rare opportunity to bring down the Instagram and Facebook with your snapshots!

The Environmental Center

The Cape Greco Environmental Center houses no less than three aquariums that represent the most typical marine life species found in the area. A magnet for nature and sea lovers as well as children, the Environmental Centre is just perfect for an educative break from sunbathing and swimming.

Let it be noted the Centre stands out also for its exceptional architectural design, which has won the first place in an Architecture Design Competition. Upon putting your foot in the hallway, you will instantly see why!

The Crow’ Arch

The Crow’s Arch, or “I Kamara tou Koraka” in transliteration from the Greek, dominates the scenery of the south-eastern part of Cyprus. Mastering a height almost 20 metres, the Arch of the Crow is another wholly nature-made bridge, offering majestic views of the vast watery horizon stretching ahead.

The “Cavos” Observation Post

Overlooking the gentle waters of the Mediterranean, the Cavos Viewpoint is actually one of the best spots for photos, offering panoramic views of both the mainland and the open sea. It is also known as the “Cavo Greco.”
